Question Laptop stops giving display output to both built in and external displays

My fujitsu lifebook s710 worked normally other than a battery wear warning until today. I went to open it and it wasn't giving a display output, neither on the built in nor on the external displays. Also, when pressing keys it beeps. Caps lock etc still change the indicators, both on the laptop and keyboard, and the cooling fan is spinning. I tried plugging everything in and out, but nothing worked. What could be the problem?

My thought is that the battery has probably given up the ghost or is otherwise no longer able to support the laptop's power requirements.

Listen carefully to the beeps: is there some repeating pattern of long and short beeps?

How old it the S710?

Are you able to install a known working or even a new battery?
