I am looking for a new laptop that will be a good combination of high performance, long lasting battery life, and lightweight because I will need to take it with me and don't want to have to carry a heavy laptop and the power cord.
SketchUp is a program I would like to be able to use and here are the requirements: https://help.sketchup.com/en/sketchup/sketchup-hardware-and-software-requirements
I would like to see what anyone would recommend.
Budget wise, I received a $2500 scholarship to put towards a new laptop but I am thinking I would like to keep it under $1000 if possible. I would like to get the lowest price for decent specs possible so I am looking for suggestions.

A Dell XPS 15 (https://www.dell.com/en-us/shop/dell-laptops/xps-15/spd/xps-15-9570-laptop/dncwxb1656s) may meet your needs. It has a nvidia GTX1050ti GPU, which supports OpenGL that's needed for SketchUp. It's also relatively light in comparison to other laptops with a dedicated GPU. The difficulty in your request is that most laptops with a dedicated GPU are "gaming" laptops. These generally are heavier and have shorter battery life. Another laptop to look at is the HUAWEI MateBook X Pro.

Question from mdsimmons1118 : "How well does GeForce MX130 do with 3D modeling software?"

Would a laptop with NVIDIA GeForce MX130 2GB dedicated gpu work well enough to run SketchUp with no problems?
Here are system requirements: https://help.sketchup.com/en/sketchup/sketchup-hardware-and-software-requirements
If it also makes a difference, laptop also has:
Intel Core i5-8250U
8 GB DDR4 RAM
256 GB SSD
