Laptop switches of ( mostly while playing games ) not overheating .

after cleaning the fan of my laptop and changing thermal paste my laptop started switching off mostly when playing games. it got reinstalled with a fresh windows so its not a software issue, i am not sure how to find out what ive done wrong when opening it so it could get fixed. ive tried many many things said on the forum about this .nothing works. any ideas ? thank you

how do you know its not overheating????
If you removed the heatsink and then reapplied thermal paste then my immediate assumption is that you either got too much or an uneven coat of paste on it or the heatsink Is not matted to the cpu properly.

I agree with boosted1g. Use a temperature recording software to verify your hypothesis.
