OK I'll start off by saying the battery was not charging while plugged in. And on top of that there was a small spill a few months ago that ruined the keyboard circuits so I needed to replace the keyboard. First thing I did was purchased an OEM charger and plug it in to test if it was a faulty charger. Once that didn't charge it, I purchased a battery and replaced it, it still didn't charge. So I Also ordered a DC Jack, the connection that runs from where the adapter plugs in to the motherboard and replaced that when replacing the keyboard. Keyboard works fine now however I still can't get a charge. Upgraded from windows 8.1 to windows 10. No good. I'll be forcing the bios to update even though it's at 1% battery and not recommended but the way power supply works in my board I believe it should be fine. Will it? My only other thought is that somehow the charger that I tested was faulty as well. Or that I'll need to find something on the motherboard such as FL one that needs to be re-soldered. Any ideas? I am leaning more towards hardware because I recall it not charging sometimes and sometimes charging. Additionally high pressure on the W ASD section of the keys can result in a power interruption causing the laptop to shut down immediately. The last point is that the CPU quad core is running at 100% after reboot with no programs. However when I open a high resource program such as a video game it will give priority to that and it will run fine, not slow, but will still remain at 100%. Thanks for any input and suggestions this laptop is soon to be finding a new home in the trashcan. The model is dell Inspiron 11 3147. Cheers.
