Question Laptop to 4k tv connection problem

Hello gals, i have an interesting problem. Have a win10 64 bit gtx 860m laptop with updated drivers. When i connect my laptop to 1080p tv all is fine but when i try my samsung 4k tv have flashing screen on laptop and even my laptop froze (no spikes on cpu usage etc). Do you have any clue ? I think your laptop can not support 4k that why it may not be working.

U maybe using an old HDMI 1.4 cable, or cable (TOO) long.

I solved the problem by connecting from Wireless screen.
