Hello,

I have a brand new windows 8 MSI laptop and for some reason I can't duplicate my desktop to a HD TV. A few minutes ago it also wasn't extending until I found I had my TV configured to the right of my laptop screen, my TV's to the left so I was literally there for about 5 minutes trying to bash the cursor through some invisible barrier between the left of my laptop screen and the right of my TV. But after I solved that daft problem I'm still trying to duplicate it, it's done it before a few days ago but after I had a fiddle around in the Display settings and the Nvidia control panel it doesn't do it anymore, all that happens is it just extends it when ask it to duplicate and for some reason says that I have a laptop display 1 and a analogue display 2 through my laptop, and my TV is the 3rd display.

One last question is it possible to play the audio that's coming from a browser on my laptop, through my laptop speakers, and then the browser that I have up on the TV, play that audio through the TV speakers?

Thanks a bunch, Kieran.

You should be able to disable that 2nd display. I'm not positive in Win 8, but in Win 7 you can right click, go to Screen Resolution and from there you can change everything - main displays, duplicate or extend, disable displays, etc.

If you cannot get it to work, try uninstalling and installing your video drivers. That can surprisingly fix so many problems!

Also, the audio should play through whatever screen it is on. I have a dual monitor setup for my laptop, with a TV as the second monitor, and whenever I play a video on the TV it plays the audio through that (the TV is an extension of the laptop's desktop).

I've tried this, Cloning is not on their, just PC screen only, Duplicate, extend and second screen only. Whats the difference between Duplicate and Cloning, I thought Duplicate was the only option to copy whatever is on your screen to the TV? Thanks for the reply :)

Cloning won't be on there. Duplicate can be considered the same thing. Did you go to Screen Resolution and try to "duplicate this display"?

I've tried duplicate, all it does is extend for some reason, I go into more detail towards the end of my original post ^^^^^^ when I choose duplicate, and go on screen resolution, my laptop display is 1|2. Multiple monitors and my LG TV is 3.

and on Multiple display drop down menu my options are:
- Duplicated desktop on 1 and 2
- Extend desktop on 1 and 2
- Show desktop only on 1
- Show desktop only on 2

and my audio, when a HD TV is plugged in always plays through the TV for some reason no matter what screen has the browser on.

Yeah in the multiple display drop down menu my options are:
- Duplicated desktop on 1 and 2
- Extend desktop on 1 and 2
- Show desktop only on 1
- Show desktop only on 2

By choosing Show desktop only on 2, everything is on my TV, but theirs times where I need to duplicate (clone) the screens like choosing the music on my laptop whilst my tv screen is out of sight.

I think the key thing in this issue is when I click duplicate, and go on screen resolution, my display drop down menu shows:
- 1|2. Multiple Monitors
- 3 LG TV

and on the picture above the drop down menus, my Laptop screen is split into 1 and 2 for some reason and on the Nvidia control panel/set up multiple displays, it says:

Geforce GTX 770M
- LG TV 3

Intel HD Graphics 4600
- Laptop Display 1
- Analogue Display 2
