Laptop to play turn-based strategy games?

I would like to know how to choose a laptop for turn-based strategy games from Paradox, AGEOD, Slitherine Ltd. Some examples are: Pike and Shot, Crusader Kings III , Imperator Rome, Civilization VI. As far as I know, those games are not really demanding but I need to know which hardware should I focus on to achieve a good performance and gameplay experience, or in our common language, good fps. My budget is up to 1600€. Thank you.

Games like these are generally CPU- heavy.

since in turn based strategy your reaction time doesnt really matter 30fps is fine while most games need at least 60 to not feel slow so you are fine with not that fast gpus

something like a 1650 is plenty

this will make for a very unbalanced laptop for gaming but

i would recommend a new i7 avoid the "u" versions 16gb ram and an ssd to decrease loading times you dont "need" any of this to run the game it will just take less time between turns

also look at reviews some laptops have kind of weak cooling that will hamper cpu performance try to avoid them

one other thing check the sceen you dont need high refresh rate
60hz is fine

or if you want 4k thou try to go for a 1660 ti at least

watch out for maxq versions of gpus that means its a slower version

I want to clarify that I am changing my mind as for which games to play and I am thinking about lower my expectations and switch to less demanding games so I won't play Crusader Kings III and other current games (I don't have much time to play anyway). This is more or less a realistic list of games I'd like to play:

• Pike and Shot (Slitherine Ltd.)
• Sengoku Jidai (Slitherine Ltd.)
• Imperator Rome (Paradox)
• Civilization VI (Firaxis Games)
• Field of Glory 2 and Empires (Slitherine Ltd.)
• Ultimate General: Civil War (Game-Labs)
• Empire Total War
• Napoleon Total War

I am thinking to play all above games as vanilla (no mods). As far as I know, the most demanding games are Empire and Napoleon Total War, Civilization VI and Imperator Rome. According to system requirements, these games demands up to Intel Core i5 and Nvidia GTX 770. The remaining ones: Pike and Shot, Sengoku Jidai, Field of Glory 2 and Empires, Ultimate General Civil War are all tabletop wargaming with lower specs.

I know that civ vi really likes a fast i7 for finishing turns same with any total war game

An i5 is fine you will just be waiting more

As for the computer you listed
That gpu with that screen is just stupid...
I dont mean you i mean asus for making it

If that gpu can play any game at 144fps at 1080p i will eat my shoe xD

I think you can stay under 1k for games like that
But i could also recommend something more "balanced" if you want to play other games too later

My budget range is between 1000 to 1600€. I rather prefer to play older games since I am not interested in newest titles, neither I want to invest a great sum of money. Another question I have is if the display and size matters in performance, will a 17.3'' laptop have a better performance than a 15.6'' laptop?
