I need to buy a laptop/ultrabook, preferably the ultrabook because of its faster performance from the SSD, that costs around $700-900. I was looking at the Samsung 5 series 14" "ultrabook" but was wondering if there is another laptop/ultrabook that is better for the price. I need this by September so I wont be needing it for some time. I will NOT be buying this online but at a bestbuy. NO MACS

Preferable Specs:

CPU: Intel i5/i7 (2nd or 3rd gen. doesnt really matter)

GPU: Dedicated GPU is not necessary but would be a nice feature

Optical Drive: Depends on the laptop

Screen: 13"-15" WXGA 1366 x 768 at the minimum (1600x900 would be better, especially if its 14" or 15")

RAM: At least 4 GB

Company: Samsung, HP, Dell, or Asus

I know that new computers will be coming out before September but I want to have a backup choice in case they arent what I want. I am willing to get a Samsung or Asus laptop/ultrabook if its over $1000.

i suggest a macbook pro.
I think you should just research each individual component on a laptop to get a better understanding of how they work. That is how you get the most bang for your buck. You kind of gave a vague question because almost all laptops these days have every single thing you have typed. This is all just advice. :D

Yeah I didnt really have any intention of buying a mac unless the price I was paying justified the cost. Not that the price of ultrabooks are any better but at least I'm not paying $1000+ dollars for a brand name

look here man.. resolutions don't look too different from each other.. its the size of the screen that matters.

A 1600x900 will look better on a 15" than a 1366x768. Resolution doesnt matter too much at 13" because 720p is pretty decent at that size. Anything above 13" should have at least 1600x900 imo
