laptop wifi connection poor

Hi my ASUS Laptop (Windows 8) is connecting to available WIFI but the connection and speed is very poor. My colleagues dont face the same issues with their laptops nor do i with my phone.
Could someone please help ? Do i need to adjust some settings or something else ?

if you can open it, check antennas if they are properly conected to wifi card
