My Dell XPS L501X wont start up. No matter what I do and it just beeps 3 times and shuts down when I press the power button. It all began when my keyboard would beep every time I was pressing it down so I´ve tried to pull off the ribon cables for the keyboard but to do that I needed to disconnect the trackpad. When I finally put everything back together the laptop just started beeping. Please help if someone knows how to fix it they would be a life saver...

Update: The laptop now turns on when I click on the power button but after a few second it shuts down.
Update 2: I brought the laptop to a friend who knows a bit about laptops and he plugged every cable of the laptop off and then on and now the laptop works but it keeps making beep sounds when pressing down on the keyboard.

If it is motherboard failure, then there isn't much hope :/ You can buy a new motherboard and have it replaced but the cost does not make that practical. The soldering may be loose on the motherboard and you can see if a repair shop can have a look at it. But honestly, the most cost effective and easiest way is to buy a new laptop :/

Can you tell me how many beeps there were? Beeping is used to help you diagnose the problem.
1 Beep:
BIOS ROM checksum failure
Possible Cause: System board failure, covers BIOS corruption or ROM errors. (Try clearing CMOS and resetting BIOS)

2 Beeps:
No Memory detected
Possible Cause: Memory or Memory slot failure (Try reseating your RAM or replacing them)

3 Beeps: (One of the below)
Chipset Error (North and South bridge error
Gate A20 failure
Super I/O chip failure
Keyboard controller failure
Time-Of-Day Clock test failure
Possible Cause: Motherboard failure

4 Beeps:
Memory read/write failure
Possible Cause: Memory failure (Try reseating your RAM or replacing them)

5 Beeps:
Real Time Clock power failure
Possible Cause: CMOS battery failure (Try reseating the battery or replacing it)

6 Beeps:
Video BIOS
Possible Cause: Video card failure (Replace it)

7 Beeps:
CPU Failure
Possible Cause: Processor failure

8 Beeps:
LCD
Possible Cause: LCD Failure
