So me and my brother always play online games together and a few days ago, my laptop started doing something really weird. While playing, i will get these huge lag spikes out of no where. The weird thing is that my brother is playing right across from me with no lag problems at all. We aren't using cheap internet either. It is one of the top internet plans from AT&T and we run at roughly 110 ping. We used it for a while, but then one day I started getting the lag spikes. I have also tried a direct connection to the router via an ethernet cable, and i got no lag spikes at all. I know you guys may say that I should just get an ethernet cable and the problem would be done, but I would like to get this issue fixed so I won't have to worry about it in the future.

Solution
This is really depending on the wireless net itself and the computer being able to recieve it properly.

Do you have any equipment that can interfere with the signal from the router to your computer? If so try to eliminate that.
Since you and your brother is sitting so close to eachother i believe this is not the case doh.

The cause seems to be your computer, maybe some software that interferes ?
Run malware scan - www.Malwarebytes.org
Deactivate antivirus program and run without it, se if it helps.
Try some tips from this link http://www.ehow.com/how_7620152_fix-wireless-lag-spikes.html
