Laptop wireless nic slows down over time or router issue?

So I have an ASUS R510DP laptop that I like to watch twitch stream on. My wifi comes from a Netgear N600 dual band router. Frequently when I'm watching streams, after an hour or so I get very spotty connection. Stutters, buffering ect. If I hook it up with an ethernet cable it smooths out.
I have had a few other laptops in the past and never had this issue. Could it be my router is just crappy?

Try updating the drivers for your wifi card
