I am looking for a higher end laptop with 3 - 4 T hard disk memory SSD.
I currently have Dell xps 13 and very happy but it is already 5y old and will sooner or later need replacing.
I saw xps15 has an option for 4T but it is very expensive.
Any suggestions for something cheaper with high disk memory?
Thanks..

It would likely be cheaper to buy one with a smaller drive, and replace it yourself.

4TB:
WD SN850X, $307
Crucial P3, $214
Samsung 970 EVO Plus, $214

Why the 4TB requirement?
I use a library for research which is 2T.
Currently I need to attach an external disk which is quite troublesome.
3T would also be enough

Can I buy my own 4T SSD disk and put it into any laptop?
It will fit inside the case? Not have configuration problems or effect warranty?

Can you replace it? Almost certainly yes.
You'd need to know exactly what type it comes with, and buy a new one to replace.

Transfer of the operating system and drive contents can be done, or just a fresh OS install on the new drive.

Not that I know of. But do read deeply into the warranty rules.
And, you'd always have the option of putting the original drive back in before sending it in.
Yeah, this is correct. Depends on where you are living also, what country. Also... if the device can support double-sided SSDs, as a 4TB SSD will definitely have chips on both sides.
