[SOLVED] Laptop won’t load Windows from BIOS

This issue began after a random Windows update which caused my laptop to display a black screen upon login with the following message:

Setting up personalized settings for:
Web Platform Customizations

I couldn’t get past this screen so I restarted my laptop. Now every time I start my laptop I am sent to BIOS and can’t load windows. I had this issue one time before when I updated my BIOS and literally “fixed” it by restarting a bunch of times and praying until one time it actually just loaded windows for whatever reason and I was able to use my laptop normally from that point on. Praying someone can help me this time cause I have work I need to get done ASAP on this laptop and the files saved on it are precious to me, so any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Does your hard drive show up in the BIOS? Some BIOSes will do this when it can no longer detect the boot drive.

Yes, both my ssd and hd are shown in BIOS

Good. While you are in the BIOS, make sure the correct drive is selected as your boot drive.

Success! Was able to pass BIOS to windows by disabling fast boot and switching to Legacy rather than UEFI
