Laptop won't boot properly.

Laptop gives me the reboot and select proper boot device.
and I truly have no clue about laptops.
I have an asus laptop, middle X75v, and help would be great!

Go into bios settings and select the hard drive as the first boot device

I tried that, and the hard drive isn't even being recognized

Did you try the hard drive in an external case? If not then try. If so then the hard drive is dead
