laptop wont boot

unusual issue with esystem 3086.it will not boot from battery until i unclick the battery(not remove) and click it into position.i have 4 identical batteries and the problem persists with all of them.it may be the charge circuit on the mainboard.the charge light does not appear until i perform the click/unclick on the battery and the all is ok?

My suspicion from that information would be that the contacts are corroded in the laptop - if they are the type I think they are, getting to and cleaning the contacts in the laptop will be tricky

thankyou for that.it would have to be something tricky.whenever i strip a laptop i get trouble. a bit like working on a car.always nuts and bolts left over at the end!
