I've an Asus laptop which I bought from US and currently using it in India.
It had been showing an error for quite sometime that the hard drive had some issues and needed to be repaired. (don't remember what exactly the error said because I always used to skip it)
Now, the Laptop won't boot up. After keeping it on for like 10 mins it displays 'preparing for autorepair' and then again shuts down.
I was running Windows 10.
What are my options in this matter?
The warrant period is still valid. So can't I claim the warranty in an Indian service centre?
Also I would prefer not to loose my data. So is there any way that I can recover it?

Hi there saksham_gupta,

Most probably there is something wrong with your drive.
One thing you can do is to boot up Ubuntu from a CD or a flash drive, access your OS drive and transfer all the data to another location(external HDD, flash drive, etc.). Thread on that: http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/267999-32-recover-data-mode
After that, you can use some brand specific(or a third party one) HDD testing tool for DOS mode and see if there is something wrong with the HDD. If this is the case, you can just contact the manufacturer and eventually RMA it.
