Laptop won't boot

Window can't be installed to this disk. Computers hardware may not support booting to this disk. Ensure the disk controller is enabled in the computers BIOS menu. I have gateway m-series and can't get Windows 8 or 7 to boot to it. Can anyone please help me

Did you replace the hdd then?? See if AHCI is enabled in the BIOS. Does it have a UEFI BIOS?

Were you able to boot to disc previously? If so, your disk may not be bootable.
