Question Laptop won't connect to secured WiFi hotspot

Not sure if this is correct thread-section for this kind of question...


I have very old laptop DELL Studio 1558 & mobile Xiomi MiA1.

• If I turned on WiFI hotspot having Security=None then laptop can see the WiFi & can connect to it.
• If I turned on WiFI hotspot having Security=WPA2PSK then laptop can see the WiFi but cannot connect to it. (I did enter correct security key.)

Can anybody guess what are causes of this laptop not connecting to visible secured WiFI hotspot issue?

I would suggest that you reinstall your wireless adapter's drivers for your laptop(sourcing from Dell's support site) and then retry connecting to the hotspot from your phone. To note, are you on the latest BIOS update for your laptop's motherboard?
