Laptop Won't Connect to Wifi

I have an ASUS laptop running windows 8 it wont connnect to my home wifi, hotspot or school internet, i had taken it to the store of purchase a few days ago as the laptop had been starting up slowly so they did a reset and i took it back to them today as it wouldnt connect to the wifi but it had connected to their wifi when the man tried it so i took it home and it wont connect is their a way i could resolve this issue also it connects through the internet adaptor

Does it connect by ethernet cable to the router?

Yes it does it works perfectly fine through ethrnet

In Control Panel, Device Manager, does it say your wifi card is working properly and your driver is up to date?

Are you using Connect to a Network to connect to a network?

I cant find wifi card in device manager also sorry but what do you mean by using connect to a network

With Windows, in Control Panel, Network there's a program called Connect to a Network - http://www.microsoft.com/surface/en-au/support/networking-and-connectivity/cant-connect-to-a-wireless-network

You sure you got a wifi card?

Yeah i tried to connect but it wont work it says can't connect to this network i opened troubleshooting and it said you have no preffered networks also earlier today i took it to the store i purchased the laptop from and i told the man and he tried to connect it to their network wirelessly and it had worked perfectly fine but i tried to connect on mobile hotspot, home wifi and uni wifi but neither of them had worked

Maybe you're not using it properly. Get a school friend to help.

I connected my other laptop, ipad and phone to all internet service and they work perfectly fine

Then get the guy at the laptop shop to show you exactly how to do it.

He done itnfront of me and it it was exactly how i was doing it and am doing it but still no hope im currently connected through ethernet but i want it to connect to my home wifi, wirelessly

Are you near your router? Can you see it when you use Connect to a Network?

Yes i am yes i still see it under wifi connections, for the ethernet connection on networks it just says network - connected

Your Home Network? If it's connected then it should work.

Its only connected through tethernet its not working through wifi at all i tried mutliple times
