Laptop wont find external devices

My laptop is unable to find any external devices placed into the laptop such as USB's and SD cards. These all stopped at once so it seems they didnt break individually. The laptop is running windows 8, Samsung model Hoyr6yk

try to disable and re enable your usb controllers on the Device Manager

in the bios make sure no one turned them off. go to the vendor supprt page and download the mb chipset drivers see if they damaged. also check intel and amd web page for newest mb drivers. on the laptop usb ports look for missing or bent pins.
