Question Laptop won't turn on after Battery Replacement.

My Aunt's original battery laptop died out and I bought a replacement. It worked, turned on, charged and everything now the battery is dead again. I tried just plugging in the laptop without the battery in it in order to use the power supply in the laptop, but nothing worked. Any suggestions as to what the issue may be? She's willing to get a new laptop but would like to save this if I can. Thanks

If the battery was offbrand that might be your issue. Many laptop manufacturers limit their hardware to only work with certain batteries.

It's likely a hardware fault.

We don't know what laptop you have and whether you used the right battery or not.

Are you sure it's old battery died?
Did you try to run the laptop on direct power?
