Laptop won't turn on after sleep mode when on charger

I have an ASUS N56VB that has no battery (it went bad after many years of use). Therefore, I leave it connected to the charger at all times.

When I close the lid or put it in sleep mode, pressing the power button does not turn the laptop on. The solution is to take out the plug from the wall, wait a few seconds, then put it back on (works every time).

Two questions:
1. Is this, somehow, a normal situation? (I am 99.9% sure it's not, but I will ask anyway).
2. Is there anywhere I can find an original charger for the ASUS N56?

Known issues with sleep mode, best way to fix it is to disable sleep mode.
