[SOLVED] Laptop Youtube output to Denon receiver

Watching Youtube (8hrs of ambient music for sleeping) on a laptop with an HDMI output. I would like to listen to Youtube on my Denon receiver with stereo speakers for night time sleeping. All my Denon hdmi inputs work but no sound coming out of my stereo speakers and volume is turned up. What am I missing? Is Laptop Youtube to receiver actually doable? Is some other component/cable/blutooth/wifi required?

Make sure that the HDMI is selected as the audio output in Windows.

For stereo output, you can also just use headphone output of the laptop.

Using my Klipsh Promedia speakers, I just inserted the 3.3mm jack into the headphone output on the Surface Pro. Thanks for the above advice as I had never tried this before

The Promedia speakers are designed to connect to a computer, how were you using them before?
