Long Story Short , I bought a Dell G3 3500 ( 1650 + i5 10th ) equipped with 2x4 DDR4 Ram and i want to upgrade it.
In Dell's Website, It says that only 16 Gb can be used for the laptop ( 2 Slots , 2x8 Gb )
So i wanna buy a 1 Module 16GB Ram DDR4 2666 GHz and use it
  1. Instead of Both 2x4Gb Rams (1x16 GB Ram Only )
  2. Beside 1x4 Ram ( 1x4GB + 1x16 Ram )

Any of both ways would make a problem?

Solution
Conflicting reports on the internets. Seems Dell only lists what is compatible not what is possible. Crucial's site says it can support maximum 2x 32GB so 1x 16GB stick should work.

However, as above, you'll lose out on dual channel performance gimping the processor a bit. Not by a lot though but if high fps is one of the use reasons then youd would be better off with dual channel to maintain minimum fps margins.

overclocking on that laptop is basically out of the window, and that includes tuning the RAM.
If they isn't compatible in terms of speed chances are you're stuck at 2133MHz with no means to increase that speed.
Anyways if I were you I'll try on getting the maximum supported memory and do not mix

Hey I am using a similar configuration laptop but from ASUS. Better try installing the crucial ram scanner in the lap to get the compatible models. Mine had a pre installed 8 GB ram and I bought another 8 GB crucial stick and it works fine. BTW if you are buying a new set or 2x8 GB buy 3200 MHz it will turn into 2933Mhz which is max. supported by the processor.
