[SOLVED] Laptops same components different brand

Does a laptop brand influence its performance?
I have found 2 laptops with similar configurations but does the brand actually matters?
■ ASUS ROG
Intel Core i5 8300H
RAM (GB) 8 DDR4 2666
1 TB HDD + 128 SSD
GeForce GTX 1060 3Gb
VS

• 
  MSI

Intel Core I5 7300HQ
RAM (GB) 8 DDR4 2400
SSD 500 Gb
GeForce GTX 1060 3Gb

Their price is the same!
Size, display, height and other details are 95% the same. It is obvious that ASUS has better configurations but is MSI simply better for gaming? Also, some comments on the internet suggest that this model of ASUS has a bad touchpad and the material is kinda bad plastic.
MSI looks like it has a better material and cooling sistem.
Should I chose better performance or better material quality?

The brand can matter for cooling, but ASUS and MSI are going to perform similarly. For me, I would choose the laptop with the best hardware, unless there are a ton of negative reviews. I would go with the ASUS over the MSI.

Take a look at the Acer Predator Helios 300. You may be able to find a deal on last years model and it has 7700hq/1060 6gb/16gb RAM/SSD. They are some of the better priced models for the hardware. I have one that I take on the road and it has treated me well

I have found this Acer Predator in my country stores:

The MSI and ASSUS mentioned are 1,088$ while this Acer Predator 1,270$.
I guess it is worth the price?

That is the new model of the Helios. Last years model has the 7700hq. If you do some digging you might be able to find last year’s model. It retailed around $1k.
