[SOLVED] Laptp Charging issues

I have a HP Pavilion DV6 laptop. it's doing something quite strange...

1. Laptop doesnt power on with battery.
2. laptop doesnt charge when turned off
3. if i remove battery and try turning on whilst it's plugged in, it doesnt power up.
4. if i get another battery from another laptop, put that in then it powers up fine!
5. whilst laptop is turned on it charges fine too...

anyone have any suggestions or fixes?

Looks like the battery you currently have might be failing or faulty. On another note, might want to see if your laptop has any BIOS updates pending. Also, are you sure that the battery you changed out is meant for your laptop? You shouldn't be swapping over parts from another laptop even if it looks the same in terms of dimensions and size.

thanks for the reply.... yes the other battery is compatible with both laptop models.

i'll try updating the BIOS. lets see if that helps
