Question Large number of G-Sense errors on new drive ?

I got new hitachi travelstar and by new I mean it had only 2 hours power on. The G-sense error rate was 200 thousand once and now it's 66 thousand but sometimes it drops to 0, I'm using DriveDX to diagnose. Otherwise all tests are 100% although randomly it makes a sound not sure if it's meant to do that maybe it's switching platters or something?

If you use CrystalDiskInfo, you can save the SMART data as a text file. You can then paste the text into your next post.

If you upload the SMART data, I'll show you how to interpret those numbers.

The problem is that raw decimal numbers make no sense in Hitachi's SMART attributes. They only make sense when you examine them in hexadecimal.

The previous data for the G-sense Error attribute was 131072.

The hexadecimal value is 0x20000:

This appears to consist of two 16-bit values:

0x20000 -> 0x0002 / 0x0000

This would suggest that the error count is either 0 or 2. I haven't found any documentation for Hitachi's SMART attributes, so I'm only speculating.

So nothing to worry about then? I can't do backups because disk gets ejected ever since I migrated into the new one strange issue seems alot of mac users have that.
