Hey there,

My girlfriend just got her pc parts for her first ever real PC and as I was putting it together for her I ran into the issue of plugging the HDD (Seagate Barracuda 2TB) into her motherboard.

The regular SATA cable plugs in just fine. However, when I try to plug in the Bigger SATA cable I dont find anywhere to plug it in. It looks like an extra long SATA cable on the HDD port, but the other end of the cable has 2 rows of 3 female prongs (with the farthest bottom right prong being an empty prong).

When I try to install windows without plugging this in I get a drivers error. Please help, I've searched all of google and cant find an answer. Where should I plug this cable in? (JUSB1-3 maybe?)

Solution
Your HDD needs 2 cables.
One connects to the motherboard, the other comes off the PSU.
