I want to build a large screen 3d gaming system. I prefer 4k over 1080p, however input lag may be an issue. Also, refresh rate might be an issue on current 4k displays. If I could get 60FPS, I would be happy.
My big question is, how does 3d technology work? If I get a 3d TV, will it cut my effective frame rate in half? If so, I would need a 120hz input 1080p so I could get at least 60FPS.
I can build the machine itself to drive it no problem, provided the 3d output technology in the next generation video cards is compatible with the 3d technology in the television inputs.
Any help is appreciated
