large vs small

Well my question is why not get a 60" plasma or lcd screen preferably a plasma rather than like a 17 or 19 incher. Obiusly the high price but it would also be a sweet tv. Basicaly my question is is the resolution on a large screen like that enough will the respons time be fast enouf for games and why dont people do it more often exept for the mony thing
ps. I cant aford one this is purely a mental exercise

Plasmas supposedly suffer from image burn, which LCDs do not. For playing games they might be fine, but if you regularly used one, your desktop icons/start bar would get permanently burned into the picture.

At least this is what I've heard; I'm by no means an expert on plasmas vs LCDs...

A big LCD would be nice, but the cheapest I've seen is the new Gateway 42" widescreen for about $3000, and a nicer Samsung for $5000. I don't have any idea what response times are on units like these.
