As much as people like to rip on Apple, including me, I will be maybe just a little sorry to see them go- they had great thing going, but it's time for that to end.

The only thing that would keep Apple alive, is if Wozniak took the reigns again. And if that happens, we may start to see Apple innovating again, and not being the recipe company that they are.

Because now this had time to come to fruition, it isn't speculation anymore.

WithoutWeakness: Now that the extra sympathy for Mr.Jobs passing have died down and that along with a stock value that have been on a constant decline (from 700$ to $450 in a year) its more fact than guesses, that makes the "specialists" dare to "speculate" without risk of being wrong.

Get me right - Apple did a tremendous work with the iPhone one and have my respect for that but since then the competition have gone from following to leading the market in darn short time along with the expectations that the future innovations from Apple will be lackluster.

How did that happen? Exactly the same thing that happened back in the early PC days, no need for history lessons only that it seems some companies will ever learn from their past mistakes.

Come on... we are talking about Larry Ellison here. One of the biggest egos in Silicon Valley. The two takes I get from this story are Larry gets some face time on national TV and looks like a good guy because he's honoring Steve Jobs... second take is his ego won't let him accept that anyone else can do a better job at Oracle therefore, no one can do a better job at Apple because Ellison and Jobs are visionaries. Apple is a behemoth and it's going to take a lot of years of poor leadership before anything happens to Apple. Just look at Microsoft after Gates left. It's taken 5 years for Ballmer to run Microsoft into the ground and it's still making billions each year.

And Larry Ellison's opinion is so "valid" why? All Apple bashing aside, just look at the buzz generated by talks of iPhone 5 hitting the market next month. Also, if stock value has fallen, so be it. It was wildly over valued to start with.

Apple may be different without Steve Jobs, but as a company, they are still a dominant technology force/innovator to be reckoned with and will be for some time to come.

It is a testament to Jobs' salesmanship that he would ever convince anyone he should be mentioned in the same breath as Edison or Picasso.

I think P.T. Barnum is more accurate.

Thomas Edison is a great comparison!

Edison was ALSO an ethics and moral devoid POS who exploited the genius of others, outright stole inventions, took credit for other's innovation.... and then proceeded to PATENT TROLL LIKE A BOSS!

People are overestimating the impact Jobs had on Apple. Did Jobs design the iphone, the ipad or ipod? No. Jobs merely told his designers and engineers that he wanted something that looked good and could be operated by idiots.

@ stratplaya - "Idiots". You think all Apple customers are idiots? There's a saying that people in glass houses shouldn't throw stones.
