Laser/Inkjet connection query

I have an inkjet printer at present (HP 950c USB) on my Win 98se computer.
I'm thinking of purchasing a small laser printer (B/W) but want to retain my
inkjet for colour. How do I connect these so that I have the option of
either? I have a couple of two-way switches from an old set-up but these
have serial connectors so are useless I suppose. I do have spare USB ports.

It's a lot easier than you think and you don't need any switches. You
can connect several printers at once, even identical models, with any
type connection interface. All of the printer drivers need to be
installed for each printer. Then you simply choose from within what ever
application you are using, which printer you wish to print from. You
can also change the default printer choice from within the printers
control panel folder.

Thanks for that. In common with a lot of internet queries, this should have
been obvious from the start! Thanks again anyway

Do you have a parallel port? Make sure the laser you buy has a parallel
connection and you'll be fine.
Otherwise just buy a usb laser ptinter and plug it into one of your spare usb
ports.

Either way it's easy.
