Last check before order! 1700 gaming system

Hey guys,

It's finally there, this week I'll be building my own gaming system!
These are the parts I selected, I would appreciate it if you could tell me what I missed or what obvious mistakes I made, thanks!!

The system will be for gaming, BF 3 and the latest games on high settings. I would like to keep it for the next 3-4 years without updating, I WILL add another 6950 along the way tough.
So a build for GAMING only.

Things I'm not completely sure about: the monitor and optical drive

Is there anything else I need, like anti-static stuff?

Anti static stuff. Like a wrist strap? Most of us forego that and use our chassis to discharge any static buildup before touching components. It doesn't hurt to be safe though.
I think you'll really like the G110, my wife loves hers that I got for her about 3 weeks ago.
The main question I have is; Why the Scythe Mugen? Its certainly quiet but you're paying for an unlocked CPU. Which means you must have some interest in overclocking. I would look at a little better overclocking type of cooler, such as the CM Hyper 212+. Its also fairly quiet.

The Sony optiarc is discontinued on newegg, but its a decent burner. I like to have a reader as well so I don't waer down the burner, I bought a bluray reader and it works great.
The Dell ultrasharps are usually expensive, but highly regarded.

I'm wanting to spend some more (300 max) on a better screen, but maybe this one is already excellent?

That optarc is avaible at the site I'm buying (see shopping list)

People told me the Scythe is enough to keep the CPU cool and quiet and will enable me to OC to 4,4Ghz or something like that.

I don't know who told you the scythe will OC to 4.4, but I have serious doubts about that claim. If you want 4+ Ghz, I wouldn't trust it to a quiet CPU cooler, I'd want the most efficient one for the price. Which the Hyper 212+ certainly is at $30.

Hard to say, your mileage may vary. On frostytech the Scythe cooler isn't even in the top ten for quiet coolers. I really recommend you take a look at some other coolers. The CM Hyper212+ is highly recommended for an inexpensive, highly efficient cooler. But I suppose the Scythe is better than the stock cooler.

I'll take the scythe, when it is insufficient, I will get another one, it is pretty cheap anyway and I think it will do well.

A 750w psu will easily push two of those cards and leave you plenty of juice left over.

Just taking that one because between the 750 and the 850 is only 10 dollar or so. Room for upgrades or whatever later.

I bought a very similar system to yours a week ago. It hasn't arrived yet, but I have read good reviews on this monitor:

I'm currently looking at the VG236HE
It's the VG236H without the 3D glasses.
It's price is the maximum I would like to give to a monitor, 260 euro.
But if it really is a nice screen, I'm willing to spend that for sure.

I got some questions:
Could I buy the 3D glasses afterwards? Are all 3D glasses compatible with this? Or do I really need the ones included in the VG236H or something?
Is this a kick-ass monitor?

it is a giant cooler that cools better than the hyper 212 at quieter temps. tomshardware i think gives better info on cpu coolers. frost tech is doing something wrong.
