I bought a HDMI 1.4 cable of 10 metres and I noticed a small latency on the connected Samsung smart TV with 1080p @ 60Hz.

My question is the following:

Would a 10 metres HDMI 2.0 cable reduce the latency at the same resolution (1080p @ 60Hz) or not?

It is probably internal to the TV. Change the mode to game mode on that input.

Thanks for the fast reply. Putting the tv on game mode indeed helped it a bit. Regardless, is the answer to my OP question a yes?

Cable length is not going to impact latency. A lot of TV’s even in gaming mode have high input lag.

Got it. I just noticed that my TV has a HDMI 1.4 input, which means that buying a HDMI 2.0 would be unnecessary, correct?

Correct although a 1.4 cable will work at 2.0 anyway

Thanks for the verification, I think game mode has decreased it sufficiently for me.
