Question Latest Java Update -- Major Policy Changes by Oracle

Hello! I still use java because the NWS still uses java and sometimes their olde radar is more accurate than the newer and fancier stuff.

Went to update yesterday and was met by 1. notice that Oracle has seriously changed their policies/rules/whatever along with 2. must have user account now to update java.

Has anyone checked the new policies or whatever?

I've updated java and read their new agreement and it doesn't say anything about account for updates, and you don't need one.

Yet yes there has been major changes for java—such as if you are a developer you must be licensed now in order to redistribute java. Individuals should still be able to install the updates without an account. Businesses will have to pay for licenses now
