I've been trying tjo install my profile of thunderbird to a new laptop. For some reason i cannot be successful as i had been in the past. when I open TB, if asks me for my first email user name and etc and it created it. When i view it, I do not see 20 years of my emails at all. Its like the past month only. Finally, I got a message that my old profile would not work well with the latest version. So now, where does that leave me and my important emails of the past I don't know the old version of that profile, so maybe I can download that particular version and i would be able to see all of my past emails. I came across a sight with a long list of TB versions, but no way on how to get one or even pick one. I suspect possibly the 90's versions. The more TB updates, the lousier it gets with no regard of its users like me.

I used other stuff in the past but in recent years I've used the free Hekasoft backup and restore through at least the last 4 builds and I still have my email and saved folders back to 2009. Just back it up from an old running machine and update the new one with that file.

I did something similar. Maybe try an interim version (or versions). I had frozen at a3x version. I had to update to 6x version then could update to latest.
