I am getting the system freezing 4 or 5 times a minute for at least half a second. This begins from the startup loading screen where you see the logo and the spinner. The PC has been stable for months so the only thing i can tie it to is these updates:
KB3087040 installed on 22/01/2016 - security update for IE flash player for Windows 10
KB3124266 installed on 22/01/2016 - Cumulative update for Windows 10 x64 systems
KB890830 installed on 22/01/2016 - Windows Malicious software removal tool - January 2016
Has anyone else experienced issues after these updates? It could be a red herring but the first time it happened i ran system restore from startup to just before the updates and the issue was resolved. Now i experienced the same problem again after these updates. Bizarrely, my second restore attempt apparently failed (which i ran from logged in Windows) because a file was locked by anti virus. But the problem seems to have somehow gone away. The updates are still present which i guess is normal because the restore failed. But i am going to have to try restoring again anyway, because now a new problem the photos's app wont load. "The app cannot be started". Just posting this in the hope someone knows more detail about whats going on, but it seems pretty complicated to me! Oh, and i literally just spotted the start menu buttons not doing anything so definitely going to be trying that restore again.
Specs: Win 10 x64, GA X99 UD4P motherboard, Nvdia 980 Ti, i7 ... will post remainder of specs when i can view system information. Thanks for reading much appreciated
