Excuse me,but I was not trying to update in safe mode,
I was saying that I had checked all my security in safe mode,
which checked out fine !!
And I'm still unable to update the lastest microsoft updates.

When you enabled Automatic Updates, what did you set your schedule to?

Hi Fritz.
it was 10 am my time ,so I set it for 11am,
but it never came on. I am the admin. and
I have tried several times to manually update,
and it looks like the green snake goes across,
but it does it real fast, and then it tells me all updates failed.

Check the bottom of the "%SystemRoot%\Windows Update.log" for clues.

Good news...
I clicked on one of those failed updates and followed the error code number,
and in my case it took me to "Services" where, come to find out ,
my "Background Intelligent Transfer Service" was not on.
Needless to say the minute that was on,I got all my updates downloaded
and all seems well for the moment.
Thank you for all the help..
