Latex gloves and static????

Would it be a good idea to wear latex gloves while installing a new motherboard? Would they help in ESD reduction?

No, they are an insulator and a charge can build up on their surface. It’s better to ground yourself , the work area and the computer.

Either get an antistatic strap for 5 bucks or touch the metal part of a running power supply once in a while.

Make sure its plugged into a grounded outlet too... with the power switch off of course.
