I'm pricing a Latitude laptop, and have been pretty happy with my
D600, so I thought I'd look for something roughtly equivalent. I
priced the D510 and the D610, with nearly identical specs except CPU
speed, and the D610 came out about $350 more. Is there something I'm
missing, or is the D510 just a newer and less expensive model?

Thanks!

The casing is the differnce. While ur D600 has magnesium outer. The D510 has
only magnesium inner frame and out casing is plastic. Not that bad, but you can
damage the display more easily if not cautious. Also the D610 is smaller and
more lightweight. In my case the cheaper modell did it, but as a roadwarrior you
may consider the D610 more, as specialy for its toughness.
