For those with LCDs, and specifically the Hyundai L90D+, check out these shots:

They are not the greatest camera shots, but they demonstrate what I am seeing. I got these yesterday in the mail (fedex). The marks are VERY noticable on dark backgrounds and any time of movement. I never saw anything like this on my Laptops.

Just wanting to (a) verify this is a defect others do not have a (b) get some kind of idea what caused it.

Kinda ticked because I need these for work and I do not want to have to mail this back on my dime and wait forever for a replacement.

Just looks like some sort of physical damage. I would RMA it...

And the sign says "You got to have a membership card to get inside" Huh
So I got me a pen and paper And I made up my own little sign</pre><p></font color=red>

Agree, looks physical but its hard to tell from photos. I have one of these and I don't have this problem. Wish I knew more about how they were put together. This artifacts might correspond to some internal components. Almost looks like excess pressure was applied directly to the pamel membrane and caused some physical deformity.
Strange and infortunate since you need them for work. I would recommend this panel but if this is physical damage then it has to have been done at Hyundai and that is bad Quality!

Acert93 - I just got my L90D+ a few days ago, and I've got the same problem (although the marks are in slightly different positions).

I called the vendor (NewEgg), and got the runaround - they say that their warranty doesn't cover monitors, and directed me to the manufacturer.

I called Hyundai about it, and they said that this isn't covered by the warranty because it is "cosmetic damage" (like a scratch on the monitor case).

As far as these guys are concerned, my options are (a) live with it, or (b) send it back to NewEgg and pay for shipping and the restock fee (15%).

Obviously, I'm not interested in dealing with either of these companies again.

NewEgg will replace it without restocking fee...But there is a time limit...And if you waited too long to report, it is not Newegg's fault, you know...

Newegg does say explicitly on their website that monitors are warranteed by the manufacturers only, so you take a risk when you buy from them. For all other products, they are an awesome retailer, but I would never buy a monitor from them. I find that peace of mind is worth the extra $$$ you pay to buy from UpgradeSource.com (they accept returns for any reason, from "I don't like the color" to "there's 1 dead sub-pixel in the very bottom left corner that I can't even see" to "it's monday, and I woke up on the wrong side of the bed, so I'm returning this monitor", well, maybe not the last, but you get the point).

Push harder on the manufacturer, hopefully this incident is only a few days old. They then should make product good, if not I would like to know. The longer you wait, the harder this will be tho.

I didn't have any defects in my L90D+ but she was helpful in getting additional information. COntact her directly and send the pictures along she may be able to help you. Mention that you bought the monitior because of positive info she helped provide to those on Tom's Hardware and you were surprised to get less than satisfactory customer service so far.
Stuff like that
Good luck!
