LCD Monitor dull?

so I bought 2 more viewsonic vx2433 monitors at 2 and 8 months old, and along side the one that I bought about a year and a half ago they are a lot brighter and just better looking.

so do lcd monitors lose color over time? or or is it different batches? or is it just some setting I haven't found yet? I've checked all the settings several times and they are the same as far as I can tell...

set them to the exact same settings on the osd (use the buttons on the monitors).
have all your windows and gfx card settings to default.
run a monitor calibration test across all monitors and match them up.

that should make them look the same.
