LCD resolutions

Mates,
i was wondering what would happen to the quality of the graphics i see on an LCD monitor if its native resolution was 1280 x 1024 and i was viewing it at 1024 x 768 instead.

Quality shouldn't decrease right?

and hows my choice for Hyundai L90D+ as a good LCD monitor for some light gaming but mostly work and video editing (i really wanna keep costs down)

Unfortunately, LCD technology really doesn't scale well. Any resolution other than the panel's native resolution is gonna look bad...really bad. If you're panel is 1280x1024 and you want to view everything in its best quality and sharpness, you're going to be stuck with 1280x1024.

it really depends on you monitor. that guy is speaking rubbish. sure it won't look as native but in games as long as you maintain aspect ratio i can play at your native on my monitor and it looks o.k.

what looks bad to someone might not bother you. the main thing that suffers is text.

So, if I have a card with 1024 X 768 esolution, what are good monitors for photo editing? The recommended ones seem to have higher resolutions.
