I'm really interested in learning how all the components work in the lowest level, so, after searching for a while I came across a book named "Code" written by Charles Petzold, which seems pretty good at explaining that. My main problem is that this book is from 2000 and a lot of things have changed since then.
Is there any updated version of this book or any other recent book/series of books/document/tutorial that covers comprehensively this topic?

I would reccomend this book:
http://www.amazon.com/Guide-Managing-Maintaining-Printed-Access/dp/1133135080

As it teaches you a lot about the inner workings of a PC, and how to maintain/manage it. It's not a cheap book though. But I seriously recommend it. Also the next best thing at your disposal is the Internet itself. You may come accross a few "false" assumptions on how comuters work or how to use them, but after a while you'll know what's right and wrong. I'm glad you want to learn these type of things, not many people are into it sadly 🙁
