I made a new email account (old email receives way too much spam by this point), is there any way I can get my old emails to the new account without painstakingly forwarding them one-by-one?

Please refrain from suggestions relating to handling spam. There's also more reasons for a new email account and I assure you I have a better grasp of my life than you and for now I only want to transfer old emails.

You can use the 'Import' function available in most email providers to do this job. For example, if you're using Gmail, go to Settings > See all settings > Accounts and Import > Import mail and contacts. Then, you'll be prompted to enter your old email details. This way, you can transfer all your old emails at once without having to forward them individually.

Thanks, I tried importing from my old outlook to gmail but it seems the import-function is handled by a 3rd hand company that never tried the functionality lol. It freaks out after logging in through the service, because you can't be logged in for the importing to happen xD the definition of moment 22.

Outlook itself seem to only allow to export emails, but not import them (why tf can I even export them then). Import contacts is for whatever reason ok.

I can't believe people never migrate email accounts, am I just being silly for wanting to keep old emails? Seems very practical in my world.

I totally get your frustration. Sometimes it feels like tech has a mind of its own. If you're having trouble with Gmail's import function, you might want to try a third-party service like ShuttleCloud or Transend. They handle email migrations and might be more reliable.

Also, don't worry, you're not silly for wanting to keep old emails. It can be helpful for looking back at past conversations or important documents. Keep going, you'll get it sorted!
