Excuse me if this seems like a silly question, but does it make any difference if, after removing the HDD from a PC, you leave the bracket and cable (by which it was connected to the PC) in the PC?

Solution
Your cables will not affect electrical operation of the computer.

I find that unused cables left in the PC are just dust collectors.

I prefer to remove them, and put them in my "cable box" for possible future reuse.

Okay, thank you for the information.
A somewhat related question: what if you were to remove the HDD and store it away with the cables and bracket still attached to it? Would it affect the drive in any (positive or negative) way?

You can keep the cables and bracket on the hard drive. This will help you to keep the screws from getting lost. Just keep it away from Static electricity, which could affect the controller chip on the drive itself.
