Leaving SSD/HDD Sata power attached

Hi, i want to know if it is safe or OK to leave the SATA power cable plugged into my SSD/HDD(connected to motherboard) while i only plug out the SATA Data cable.

Motherboard(Data Cable IN, Power Cable IN)<------------>SSD(Data Cable plugged OUT, Power Cable still IN)

The reason i ask this is because i need to dismount my HDD/SDD to use my Dock, and my SSD's power port is broken, i don't want to keep plugging out the power slot on the SSD's end.

You probably want one of these so you do not beat up on the power connector of your SSD.

Which is worse breaking the connector on the SSD or on the motherboard? How about neither and get a cheap 2 dollar adapter/extender and make that the sacrifice?
