LED and Fan Controller Compatability

Hello! I was wondering if anyone knew if it is possible to hook up ONLY the LED's of a LED case fan to the fan control of a case. This would (in theory) let me control the LED brightness with the fan control, and let my software/BIOS run the fans (instead of having them on a fixed analogue speed dial thing). The reason is I am trying to pick a case for my first build and I'm sort of OCD about the exterior, so having a fan-control button/dial/switch on the outside which is totally unused would be sort of irritating to me :/ Is it possible to connect only the LED's of a Case fan to the fan control? Thanks!

Since the LEDs run through the fan's power 3/4pin power cables, that's going to be tough to handle.

I would recommend you just grabbing one of these and rigging up your own lighting:

You can literally change it to any color!
