Trying to decide on what to buy here, a full-sized 3LCD projector or an LED.

The LED's don't seem as bright but they do seem a lot clearer where as the 3LCD projectors whomp the LED's in lumen count.

Seen some reviews online that indicate the difference may not be that bad. My budget is around $500 so I'll need something fairly inexpensive.

Been looking at brands like AAXA and Epson's lower range of projectors.

In this video it looks like there really isn't too much difference between the two, is this true? If so I'd much rather go with the smaller unit.

Thanks in advance!

Lamp projectors are old grandma products but LED are dashing New generation Crush products.

Yes there is not much difference in the brightness when you see with your naked eyes but on paper, it will show a lot of difference, as there are two different ways to measure brightness. That is a long concept to discuss.

Hi randal.
I do not suggest you go projector under 800-850 dollars.

The quality will be fairly bad. Personaly I would not go under something like an optoma HD 131Xe or a Benq 1070W.

Even those are not "amazing" projectors, but they are quite decent for the price.

My experience says that LCD are little brighter [ no a big feature to buy ] on other hand LED [ with DLP] are much sharper, have better real world color reproduction and gives sharper more clear charater readability, small in size, eco friendly, les electricity consumption, no mercury, more connectivity [ almost all the ports + wifi + Bluetooth etc ], instant on, instant off, no filter cleaning, TCO is much lesser as it needs almost no lamp change in next 10years if you use 6~8 hours a day, ideal for watching long hours and many more.

So decide whether to go little more brightness or spent little more money in buying and then never spending a penny with features which every smart person needs.

Same question when smart phone started, whether to go with traditional mobile phones with more battery backup or go with smart mobile phones with more features but little less battery??? You know the further reality today.

If need any further help, hit me back..Cheers

I got rid of my Epson projector and upgraded to the AAXA P450 projector. Pretty much a no brainer.

Hi, I know it's been a while. But I am wondering if you have tried any model of projector. I am a student now. I am thinking of purchasing a projector so that I can use it as a TV or for my study group occasionally. Would like to know your experience. Thanks!

Hi, I ended up AAXA, too. It performed quite well in my dorm and my friend's place where we had a game night.

Not sure if you ended up 450Pro or other models, but I would like to share you with the new use case - phone mirroring with chromecast. I am excited to explore more uses and experience.

Hi Whittakera,

It's been such a long time since I checked my account. Good for you! My AAXA 450 works perfectly for my need. And I tried the mirroring, it works fine. But I would say the M5 is really a good deal since it has a built-in battery and is much brighter than my 450 Pro.

I also found some interesting comparison videos on Yotube about M5, check this out!
